Farm Safe Schools

Our Story:

This year we decided to participate in the Agri Kids Schools' Programme to highlight the importance of Farm Safety with our pupils and to raise awareness in our local community and further afield through the use of social media.

All pupils in the school engaged in the weekly webinars with Alma Jordon, had class discussions, filled in the worksheets, created artwork and participated in zoom calls with a farmer called Declan and also with the Minister for Agriculture and Marine, Charlie McConalogue. Teachers availed of the lesson plans and resources that were available on the website, www.farmsafeschools.ie

The programme was thoroughly enjoyed by all and parents and the wider comminity enjoyed seeing the children's activities through our school Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The following photos and videos will demonstrate some of the work that was involved over the past few months. (all pupils from infants to 6th class took part in all elements of this programme)
